8 Tracks, Telephone Booths, and….
What is next?
Which commonly used item will be pushed to extinction first?
Tony Morgan created a Squidoo Lens here about this
From the Top 10, here are the ones that I have already eliminated from my life:
- Newspapers (replaced by Google Reader)
- VCRs (replaced by DVD players…..wanting a Blue Ray now)
- Maps, the kind you fold (Google Maps)
- Yellow Books (replaced by Google Search)
- Denominations (a unified Church can change the world)
- Wristwatches (never saw a need for a wristwatch)
From the Top 10, here are the ones I am still holding on to for some reason……
- Landline phone (not sure why)
- Computer tower (99% of my computer use is on my laptop)
- Ties (been trying my best to get rid of this one…….still feel social pressure to wear ties to weddings)

As long as they are a fashion item watches will not become extinct. Even though I can look up the time on my phone, PC or lots of other places I wear a watch just as I wear socks – part function, part fashion. Fashion of course is very much an individual taste.
