A Global Conversation
I have been reading through The Cluetrain Manifesto: The End of Business As Usual……it is free online here
The internet has changed things. And I don’t mean in an every company, organization, or church has a fancy website kind of way.
The internet has really, really changed things. A global conversation has begun……..via the internet.
The attraction of the internet isn’t really the technology. Remember, the internet started gaining popularity when the technology of the internet wasn’t all that great.
The attraction of the internet is the conversation…….and the technology of the internet enables that.
Everyone can communicate with everyone about everything. Instantly.
It seems obvious now with the explosion of things like Myspace, Facebook, web-based email, instant messaging, blogs, and Twitter. But the authors of the Cluetrain Manifesto had it figured out way back in 1999. I was shocked when I noticed that the manifesto was written that long ago.
If you don’t have time to read the whole thing, at least check out the 95 Theses
Then ask…..
- Am I part of the global conversation?
- Is my business part of the global conversation?
- Is my employer part of the global conversation?
- Is the Church part of the global conversation?
